Access Levels

Describes the extent of information and tools which can be used for the assessment.

  • Open

    The student has no restrictions on the resources or tools they can access.

  • Restricted

    The student is restricted to some types of resources and tools. The resources could have contents that are unknown to the teaching staff and similarly, the tools may work in ways that are unknown to teaching staff.

  • Closed

    The student is restricted to internal resources and internal tools.

    Internal resources have contents that are known to the teaching staff. Internal tools work in a manner understood and supported by teaching staff.

Supervision Status

Describes the method of ensuring the access level is not breached.

  • Unsupervised

    There are no authorised staff members or automated systems checking whether the student is following the assessment's access level.

  • Supervised online

    There are authorised staff members or automated systems that that are checking whether the student is following the assessment's access level. The students are observed through virtual methods and there is no physical access to the student.

  • Supervised in-person

    There are authorised staff members or automated systems that that are checking whether the student is following the assessment's access level. The students are observed in-person and physical interaction is allowed.
